Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
Nama Health Impact (formerly Nama Wellness Community Centre) is a mission-driven, Ugandan-founded and led organisation, dedicated to strengthening primary healthcare systems in underserved communities and eradicating maternal and child mortality.
We believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
Our team includes public health specialists, clinicians, digital health innovators, and community mobilizers, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, sustainable healthcare to all.
Our approach integrates and advocates for community health workers who bridge the gap between communities and the formal health system. We use research and data to identify best practices and make healthcare accessible and responsive to the communities we serve.
We focus on three key areas
Health service delivery
We deliver essential maternal and child healthcare services through trained Community Health Workers who bring care closer to where people live, ensuring timely treatment, referrals, and follow-up for those who need it most.
Research
We generate evidence to improve practice and influence policy. Our community-level data helps shape smarter interventions and contributes to national health strategies.
Advocacy
We champion the integration of community health workers (CHWs) into the national health system and advocate for investment in community-based solutions to achieve health equity.
Founded in 2014

2014
Nama Health Impact was founded in May 2014 in Lukojjo Village, Nama sub-county, Mukono District, when healthcare facilities were few and tens of kilometres away from communities, leading to unnecessary deaths due to a lack of access to quality, affordable care.
Vision
A future where everyone - no matter where they live - has access to quality, affordable healthcare.
Mission
We transform Uganda’s community health system by training and integrating professional Community Health Workers into the national health system, making universal health coverage a reality.
Values
We are guided by respect, compassion, inclusion, and a deep commitment to client-centred care.
