VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Enrolled Midwife

Number of positions:1

Department: MRNCH

Reports to: The Senior Midwife In charge MRNCH

Job Purpose.

The post holder will be responsible for conducting/providing, antenatal, labor, delivery and post-natal services including immunization, family planning and advice to clients visiting NAWEC HC III within the expectations and limit of knowledge and experience. The Enrolled Midwife shall be required to work with a team of other health workers including trained Community Health Workers (CHWs)

Duties & Responsibilities.

·        Provide comprehensive MCH services to Clients during and after pregnancy, including managing complications and referring high risk pregnancies

·        Assist the Registered Midwife in conducting deliveries, preparing birth attestations and monitoring the general health condition of the mother and the new born.

·        Provide counselling to mothers on pregnancy and post-pregnancy management, including proper breastfeeding techniques, and care for the new-born.

·        Participate in PHC activities including health education, family planning, preparing for childbirth, HCT services and nutrition programs, as well as eMTCT activities at the health facility and within the community.

·        Provide all non-surgical methods of family planning and provide counselling for surgical methods.

·        Ensure babies are immunized according to schedule.

·        Support Clinicians in the management of sexual violence cases.

·        Monitor the consumption of drugs and equipment required for maternity activities and notify supervisor of re-stocking needs.

·        Ensure biomedical equipment are in good working order by using them in accordance with user manual and protocols, and ensure hygiene and sterilization criteria, including universal precautions, are met.

·        Ensure that medical practices are conducted with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to professional Code of Conduct and Organisation’s Values.

·        Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisors.

 

Academic Qualifications

·       Certificate in Midwifery.

·       Certified with Uganda Nurses and Midwife Council(UNMC).

·       Competence in Midwifery skills.

Work Experience.

·       A minimum of two years’ working experience in a Medical facility.

·       Excellent Communication, Presentation and Social skills.

·       Experience working within a community health setting is an added advantage  

 

Position: Sonographer

Number of positions:1

Department: Clinic

Reports to: The Medical Officer

Job Purpose.

To assist the Clinical team with diagnosing or Ruling-out various medical and non-medical conditions using sonographic equipment available, ultimately working directly with patients to conduct sonographic procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities.

·        Operating and maintaining imaging equipment and reviewing images for diagnostic purposes.

·        Explaining the procedures to patients, answering questions, and ensuring their safety and comfort.

·        Providing quality and detailed reports of the imaging findings.

·        Identifying normal and abnormal results, communicating them to clinical team, and alerting them to urgent problems.

·        Preparing and educating patients throughout the ultrasound exam.

·        Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirement and Skills

·       Relevant training and/or certifications as a Sonographer.

·       A minimum of two years’ working experience in a medical facility as a Sonographer or similar role

·       Strong technical, communication, interpersonal and patient service skills

·       The ability to explain technical terms in a clear and understandable way

·       Excellent eyesight and attention to detail

·       Strong analytical, judgment and decision-making skills
