Access to quality healthcare
for everyone
Nama Health Impact is a Uganda-founded organisation based in Mukono District, in Central Uganda. The maternal mortality rate is approximately 189 deaths per 100,000 live births, which is one of the highest in Africa.
We work tirelessly to train, professionalise, and integrate community health workers to ensure that everyone gets access to quality healthcare where it is needed most. Through our research, we identify best practices and make healthcare responsive to the needs of our communities.
We have seen a reduction in preventable deaths, an increase in nutrition, mental health, and neonatal care in women, children, and the underserved are receiving quality healthcare from community health workers who bridge the gap between communities and the formal health system.
For over a decade, we have trained and deployed more than 1,466 Community Health Workers and reached more than 1,503,970 households. Every day, we move closer to achieving our vision to transform community health systems by professionalising community health workers and integrating them into national healthcare systems to achieve universal health coverage.
