Strengthening community response to the ongoing Mpox emergency

We are excited to share that our Community Health Workers (CHWs) are undergoing comprehensive Mpox training, made possible by the $50,000 Risk Pool Alliance grant.
This initiative comes at a critical time as the WHO continues to classify the Mpox outbreak as a public health emergency of International concern, with Uganda specifically named among countries experiencing the upsurge.

376 CHWs across Mukono District, including those in Koome islands, are now equipped with specialized screening protocols, protective equipment, and digital reporting tools aligned with current WHO emergency guidelines. This surveillance capacity directly supports our region’s response to the ongoing international health emergency and strengthens our preparedness for future outbreaks.
Thank you to Risk Pool Fund and other supporters for standing with us, especially at critical moments like these.
