NAWEC 2020 Annual Report

Greetings NAWEC friends and family, Like all grassroots organizations in resource-poor environments, NAWEC was equally challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Confinement measures led to major disruptions in healthcare services, scarce employment opportunities, and skyrocketing costs of food and other commodities.

Amidst all these challenges, our dedicated partners supported our efforts to expand our services when the people we serve needed it the most. During 2020, we launched a new maternity ward, expanded to round-the-clock working hours, provided over 120 days of technical assistance to government health centres, and trained a cadre of 50 professional community health workers.

All our work focuses on building a better health system in Mukono District and I want to give thanks to our board, partners, staff, and clients for helping us move towards making that vision a reality.
