CHW training on emergency response to Ebola and other disease outbreaks in Uganda

Strengthening Community-Based Surveillance: Empowering CHWs in Epidemic Response

At Nama Wellness Community Centre, we believe in continuously equipping our Community Health Workers (CHWs) with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to health emergencies. Our recently concluded training focused on Ebola response and other outbreak preparedness measures, ensuring that CHWs are well-prepared to protect and educate their communities.

Through these sessions, our 306 CHWs are now able to;

✅ Detect potential health threats within 7 days
✅ Notify higher authorities within 1 day
✅ Manage potential outbreaks at their source
✅ Prevent transmission across district boundaries.

Hear from our CHWs themselves as they share their experiences and key takeaways from this impactful training.
