Launching Our CHW Program in Buikwe District!
We are thrilled to announce a significant expansion of our Community Health Worker (CHW) program into the vibrant and growing Buikwe District! This marks a crucial step in our ongoing commitment to strengthening community-based healthcare across Uganda.
On the 12th Feb, 2025, we participated in a partners’ meeting organized by the Buikwe District Local Government. This collaborative effort brought together key stakeholders dedicated to enhancing the well-being of Buikwe’s residents.
We participated in this meeting alongside a diverse and impactful group of organizations, each bringing unique expertise and resources to healthcare initiatives in the region, including @FightingMalaria, with their critical knowledge in malaria prevention; @MakSPH (Makerere University School of Public Health), providing invaluable research and technical expertise; @waterforpeople, addressing the vital need for clean water and sanitation; @PSIUganda (Population Services International Uganda), contributing their experience in high-impact health solutions; @MakeStrongMinds, focusing on mental health and well-being; @BracugandaI (BRAC Uganda), bringing vast experience in community development; and @MinofHealthUG (Ministry of Health Uganda), providing essential guidance and oversight.
The meeting’s objectives were to;
✅Share and review performance of service areas/indicators supported by implementing Partners
✅Understand the modalities and scope of work performed by implementing Partners and the district local government
✅Share concepts of the newly upcoming Projects supported by Partners (Nama wellness, PSI) in line with CH issues
✅Review results from implementation and research activities
✅ Share lessons, challenges, and good practices from implementation of the eCHIS in Buikwe
✅ Discuss way forward especially on sustainability area
